Dear Parents,
I can hardly believe it's almost half-term, but we have had a wonderful start to the academic year. Yesterday, Reception celebrated an exciting Superhero Day—children dressed up as their favourite superheroes and enjoyed face painting, crafting, and construction activities. They even had a special visit from Captain America!
The children have also been having fun getting muddy and exploring our amazing woodland areas during Forest School. Outdoor learning is such an important part of the curriculum, offering children the chance to be in nature and push their boundaries. It has a positive effect on their wellbeing, physical development, and social skills.
We held a very successful Year 7 & 8 Open Morning last Friday—thank you to everyone who attended. It was great to see so many parents discovering the unique benefits their children can experience by studying at Hazelwood during these crucial years of their education. We were treated to inspiring and honest accounts from our Head Boy, Head Girl, and their deputies about their time in the Upper School. We were also fortunate to have a former parent host a Q&A session, sharing why it was the right choice for her son to stay at Hazelwood until the end of Year 8. We are pleased to hear that her son is now thriving at senior school, having entered Year 9 this September.
Please save the date for our very popular HPA Christmas Fair on Saturday, 30th November, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Anyone interested in booking a stall should contact Katrina Butler at [email protected].
I would like to wish everyone a restful half-term break, filled with precious time spent with family and friends. I look forward to welcoming all children back to school on Monday, 4th November.
Lindie
