Dear Parents,
Our Christmas trees have arrived at Hazelwood, the decorations are up, and it’s starting to look very festive and magical across the site. With only 2 weeks to go until the end of term, we have so much to enjoy and still look forward to, including our Carol Service, the Christmas Concert, Skylarks’ Nativity, the Christmas Fair and Gift Shop and Wellbeing Day. What an exciting few weeks ahead!
We held a very successful Open Morning last week, with many prospective parents enjoying a typical school day in action. Parents met with teachers and were impressed with our Year 8 tour guides, who never fail to act as fantastic ambassadors for our School. As always, it was incredibly satisfying to share with parents what makes Hazelwood so special, and we had wonderful feedback from those who attended.
Reception and Year 1 performed their Nativity brilliantly to the lower school and parents this week - it was such a treat! They performed with such confidence and energy that impressed us all. Well done to all of our younger pupils for learning their individual lines as well as the song lyrics and actions. Thanks also to our Year 1 and Reception teachers for all their hard work in bringing the production together.
The Year 5 Giving Project went from strength to strength this week, as pupils held a sale of their homemade Christmas cards and decorations for staff. It was wonderful to see all the hard work that had gone into making these items and the pride with which the pupils took in selling them. The remaining items will be sold at the Christmas Fair, and all money raised will go to their ‘Care Home Cookie and Chat’ Project before the end of term. Well done, Year 5!
Finally, the HPA Christmas Fair is being held tomorrow between 12 – 3.30pm. Please come along to support the HPA and indulge in some festive fun and shopping. There are plenty of stalls and entertainment for everyone to enjoy!
With best wishes,
Lindie
