Dear Parents,
It is beginning to feel very festive here at Hazelwood! The Christmas trees are up, the lights are lit and the weather outside is frosty. We are bursting with events and activities across the school, from rehearsals for the Nativity in Chestnut to Christmas crafting in the nursery!
Please come along and enjoy some festive fun at the Hazelwood Christmas Fair tomorrow. The HPA has been working incredibly hard to organise what I am sure will be a very successful event. It will be the perfect opportunity to do some Christmas shopping and to visit Santa in his grotto. It is also not too late to buy your raffle tickets at the Fair tomorrow, to be in with a chance of winning some superb prizes.
Last week, Year 1 enjoyed a visit from Surrey Fire Service as part of their topic on ‘The Great Fire of London’. The obvious highlight was the opportunity for the children to be able to use the hose! We have also had several fun trips, with Year 6 enjoying a day out at the Natural History Museum and Year 8 visiting the Houses of Parliament. Educational visits are such a key addition to enriching our curriculum and we were so proud of how well the children represented the school. This was also echoed by members of the local community, who contacted the School directly to let us know what an asset they are to the School and their families.
Next Friday, 8th December, we have our annual Carol Service at Tonbridge Chapel for pupils in Years 3 to 8. It is a truly special occasion and I look forward to seeing many of you there.
Best wishes,
Lindie
